| We are not our own
bosses as many would like to believe; we are bought with a
precious price. Living or dying we follow the Lord. God
has bought us with a great price. So every part of our
bodies is to give glory back to God, because He owns it.
We should live in eager
expectation that we will always be ready to speak out boldly
for Christ while we are going through all these trials here,
just as His Word commands us. For He has promised that He
would be with us through all of them. Live with the resolve
that you will always be an honor to Christ, whether we live
or whether we must die. For to us living means opportunities
for Christ, and dying--well, that's better yet! But if
living will give us more opportunities to win people to
Christ then we should really know which is better, to live
or die! There will be times when we want to live and at
other times we don't, for we will long to go and be with
Christ.
It is through reading and
studying the Scriptures that we come to realize that we
could never find God's favor by trying--and failing--to obey
His Laws. We come to realize that acceptance with God comes
from believing in Christ. We have been crucified with
Christ: and we ourselves no longer live, but Christ that
lives in us. And we no longer live, but Christ lives in us.
And the real life we now have within this body is a result
of trusting in the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself
for us.
